Praising Green Nobel Laureate blanket of Trees for a Green Beautiful World – The Power of One

Nobel laureate Prof Wangari Maathai - (1 April 1940 – 25 September 2011).

In 2004, she became the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for "her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace. Prof Wangari Maathai was an environmentalist. She started the Green Belt Movement in 1977, working with women to improve their livelihoods by increasing their access to resources for cooking and clean water. She became a great advocate for better management of natural resources and for sustainability.

“You cannot protect the environment unless you empower people, you inform them, and you help them understand that these resources are their own, that they must protect them.”

She realized that behind poverty and environmental destruction were deeper issues of disempowerment, bad governance, and a loss of the values that had enabled communities to sustain their land and livelihoods, and what was best in their cultures. The planting of trees became an entry-point for a larger social, economic, and environmental agenda.

Green to her death, her coffin was made of water hyacinth and papyrus reeds with a bamboo frame and draped with the Kenya national flag. On top of the coffin, which was on a raised platform inside the hearse that had large windows, was a poignant reminder of what she campaigned hard for, a green plant.

Farewell to a fallen Green world heroine who had waged a campaign to protect the environment.

“We cannot tire or give up. We owe it to the present and future generations of all species to rise up and walk!”

It was established in 1977 in honor of the famous Naturalist, David Leslie William Shedrick MBE (dead in 1976). It’s a good centre for families and individuals who love elephants and rhinos to explore and contribute towards the trust to save the orphaned elephants and rhinos.

Green Again Naturally

Green architecture, Rain on me,work less on Nature and have more fun.Green architecture refers to the creation or restructuring of the surroundings with minimal impact on the environment – ecosystems – ecotourism (With No disturbance to the ecology). Efficient use of environmentally friendly technology and materials composed of organic compounds for construction is healthy to the conservative of the environment. Rather then using synthetics for construction one would consider using wood or recycle existing material or resources. More people have become concerned and are exercising good judgment when using our planet's resources, and are making the best use of available resources for cooking, cooling, heating, and water supply etc. Wind power energy, solar panels - sunlight, rainwater are common elements of green architecture renewable energy source. Use of native material and preserving indigenous trees and plants to the area, helps to keep the structure in balance with nature.Go the African way and do a Hut.LoL, check picture.

Cloud Computing takes off Green

Cloud Computing footprint rise is Green for the next-generation IT industry, for it’s designed with the environment in mind. New IT Resource standards for Service arena as a Service has been set. SaaS, PaaS, IaaS are the key service parts of the Green cloud computing.

IT resources on demand are delivered as a Service. Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) which in the process opens up Green Computing environment were IT Resources are purchased as a Service.

My website and Blog is powered by Green Cloud-based service Computing offerings by Google. It’s real and Green. GO GREEN.

Going Green

Our ancestors went green decades ago when they consumed whole foods, herbs etc regularly on healthy eating with reduced risk of many diseases that plague modern society now. Going Green was free as in “free speech”.
Our ancestors had green combination of fresh air, exercise (walking), hard work etc.
Going green is truly being in sync with the natural world with which we co-evolved.
Make a point and go green by contributing to the conservation of the environment.
As part of this noble venture hope you enjoyed pic of a Seven Months old Giraffe being feed from a milk Bottle in a Kenyan Orphanage.....Read More..
